Backpackers come to Cairns & want to just go to the Daintree rainforest but here at Nomads Esplanade Backpackers Hostel, Cairns our backpackers know that there is also the Atherton Tablelands, especially with On the Wallaby Adventures.

On the Wallaby Adventures take you just south of Cairns but up into the mountains to a beautiful rainforest full of Waterfalls, Volcanic Crater Lakes & wildlife unique to the area.  This area is called the Atherton Tablelands.  Here Cairns backpackers may be lucky enough to see  Cassowaries, Tree Kangaroo’s & of course the Platypus!

Here at Nomads Esplanade backpackers hostel our friendly staff can organise an overnight package with On the Wallaby Adventures that gives our Cairns backpackers one or two nights at the lodge in Yungaburra.  Here you can go night & early morning spotting for Platypus!  If you like you can also arrange to do a spot of Night Canoeing to see some of the nocturnal creatures that live in the Atherton Tablelands.

Day two with On the Wallaby Adventures lets Cairns backpackers cycle through the countryside before a swim in the aqua blue waters of Lake Eacham, followed by canoeing at Lake Tinaroo, face painting with traditional Aboriginal ochre clay & more!!

If you are after a trip to get out of Cairns City for a night or two just come see us here at Nomads Esplanade Backpackers Hostel & our staff will book you onto an awesome trip to the Atherton Tablelands with On the Wallaby Adventures.
