Wellington will host the New Zealand premiere of Peter Jackson’s latest movie The Lovely Bones this December.

The red carpet will be rolling out on 14 December at the Embassy Theatre, ahead of the rest of the world that will have to wait till 26th December.

Based on Alice Seabold’s award winning novel of a young girl, played by Irish actress Saoirse Ronan, who has been murdered and watches over her family and her killer from heaven.  Jackson shot some of the NZ$104 million movie in Pennsylvania, as well as in Wellington.  Heaven was created and shot at his Miramar studios.

Based less than a 10 minute walk from The Embassy Theatre itself, Nomads Capital Backpackers Hostel Wellington is the perfect place to stay for all those movie buffs or anyone wanting to be the first to see New Zealand’s very own Peter Jackson’s new movie The Lovely Bones.
