Opera Season in Melbourne

Got to love the cheap and awesome accommodation available at Nomads Melbourne Backpackers Hostel! Especially being so close to everything, either by foot, tram (1 block from the free one!) and trains.  It means that with the money you save on expensive hotels you can spend on the finer things in life, like the opera.

Love those opera packs, buy 3 and get a great discount. So with all that money you are saving you can go for pre-theatre dinner somewhere on Southbank. La Camera, The Bluetrain and Bear Brass all offer pre theatre menus, have quick service and are pre-paired for us opera goers! Some restaurants even have post theatre menus offering wicked coffee, or a nightcap and cake deals.

The first two operas I’ve seen for this season were amazing. The beautiful Tosca by Puccini complete with love, betrayal, rape, murder and suicide. What a combination! Then the hilariously funny Fledermaus by Strauss, which is even sung in English (however the other operas do all have surtitles), is a very amusing way to see how sweet revenge can be!

So book your cheap bed at Nomads Melbourne Backpackers and use the extra cash for an extravagant night out in Melbourne!
