Open Day Come-Down
A few weeks have passed since The Arts Factory Backpackers Lodge held it’s open day on August 14 2010. Have a read about the Open Day and see all the pictures…. Arts Factory Open Day & World Record
The smell of burnt kerosene has faded away, cars have migrated back into their natural habbitat in the car park, the posters have been pulled down and life has returned to normal at the arts factory. Save the odd big-headed backpacker still absolutly thrilled at the fact that they are a part of history. I myself happen to be number 46 of 112 fire twirlers engraved into the Gunniess Book Of World Records! I was rubbish at it (white top not such a good choice) but fire dancing late into saturday night will live on in the memory of this lill chicky forever.
Apart from the World Record, the entire day was fantastic! We had local market stalls with hand-made jewelry, real one of a kind pieces (I may have treated myself once or 3 times), Creative art pieces scatter around the vibrant carpark, workshops avaible for everything from african drumming to Fire twirling to acrobatics and glass blowing.
A HUGE thankyou for all the local business who showed up and supported the Arts Factory’s biggest day of the year! Last but certainly not least, a MASSIVE Thankyou to Peggie, Angie, Matt, Craigu and all of the Arts Factory Backpackers Lodge team for your hardwork, stresses and love that you put into it to make the day go off!!! if you have stories or pictres of the day we would love to have them up on our Arts Factory facebook page
