Clean Up Australia Day, Byron Bay
Clean Up Australia Day is a National event that is held once a year, all over Australia. It is a great initiative to keep our beautiful country clean. Here in Byron Bay the Arts Factory Backpackers Lodge and Nomads Byron Bay Backpackers Hostel have signed up to participate in Clean Up Australia Day.
We have nominated the Cumbebin Wetlands area (surrounding the Arts Factory Backpackers Lodge) as our clean up zone for Tuesday, March 2nd. Anyone who is interested in participating will need to meet in the Arts Factory car park at 8:45am, Tuesday March 2nd. The clean up will go for three hours, from 9am till midday.
Why should you go cleaning on your holiday, specialy when you are in Byron Bay in the chilling place to be…?
The nature and the whole eco system in Australia are very unique. I mean, take a walk, look around and you will see things you don’t see in your own country. Australia is one of the countries who really cares about their nature and everything in it. Next week Tuesday there is an opportunity to help Australia by keeping their beautiful country clean, so why not.
The Arts Factory Backpackers Lodge and Nomads Byron Bay Backpackers are in and we hope many people will come and help us. Nomads Byron Bay will have a free shuttle bus pick up at 8:30am. We will provide garbage bags, gloves and sunscreen, but more important…a free sausage sizzle for all participants + onion, bread, sauce etc. It is a nice opportunity to make contact with other backpackers and you will have lots of fun with each other during the cleaning times. Bring appropriate footwear, hat and drink bottle.
There will also be the chance to win prizes to make it even more attractive to come including free accommodation in a private room at one of the hostels, 2x meal vouchers for the Buddha Bar or free Big Breakfast from the Beach Café.
