Wow its that time of the year again and just when you thought all celerbrations were over you get hit with another Festive Day..but my personal favorite: Australia Day! So what to do when in Cairns??? Well the gang here at Nomads Esplanade Backpackers Hostel, Cairns want to clue you backpackers into the very best that Cairns has to offer.

First….looking to party w/o needing alot of money? Then join the Nomads gang. We start the festivities at noon at Nomads Cairns with volleyball and heaps of drink specials. Plus we will be serving you Aussie favorite lunch, meat pies and sausage rolls for FREE to all our guests in Serpent Bar. We promise heaps fun Aussie giveaways and games….with an Aussie Trivia Quiz for a chance to win a 2-4-1 Skydive…then join us as we all head to Rhinobar for an awesome BBQ and party. Trust me when I say you won’t find a more fun for less money anywhere this Australia Day!

Other Cairns options include: The Big Arvo at the AJ Hackett Bungy site Featuring 27  Djs including one of Australias most aclaimed Djs, Pee Wee Ferris from New World Audio.  It starts at 12pm and  tickets can be purchased at many venues around Cairns for a  $35. Another event will be on the Cairns waterfront at The Salt House.  The traditional Triple J hottest 100 will be played all day then finishing with live DJ in the evening.  The day starts off with Breakfast at 7am, but if thats a bit early no stress The Salt House is open late.
