A Day on the Green with The B52’s & The Proclaimers
A Day on the Green is December 13th this year and features the B52’s and the Proclaimers!
A Day On The Green is a live music event in Auckland and is hosted by Villa Maria Estate, a vineyard located about 30 minutes south of Auckland city or about 5 minutes taxi ride from Auckland Airport. However, strangely enough the event is not focused on wine, its all about music. This years Day on the Green is host to two legendary old school bands the B-52s and the Proclaimers.
The B-52s first came on the scenes in the 1970’s and made a name for themselves with a number of wacky off the wall type songs. The one song they are always remembered for is the love it or hate it song ‘Love Shack’.

The Proclaimers are best known for the fact that they are Scottishnear identical twins with there own unique style and heavy Scottish accents. There most well known track was ‘I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles)’. Don’t ask me how much that is in Kilometres.
Although these are the headlining acts there are also a great supporting live music lineup with Dave McArthney and the Pink Flamingos who newly formed from the demise of Hello Sailor and Dragon.
All in all this looks like it will be a great day out for those who love live music. If you haven’t got a ticket yet you might still be able to get some priced around $101.80 admission or $152.40 seated.
Be quick! If you are looking for a bed for the night check out our website at Nomads Auckland Backpackers Hostel . The after party for A Day on the Green, with The B52’s and The Proclaimers, will be on the 1st floor at our Fusion Backpackers Bar.
