Due to the huge success of last years Open Day, The Arts Factory Village decided to open its doors to the public again on Saturday 14th August, 2010 from midday to midnight.
The annual Arts Factory Village Open Day is an opportunity to showcase the range of businesses located within the Arts Factory Village as well as an opportunity to unite and support a range of local businesses involved in the arts and entertainment industries throughout the Byron Bay region.
Byron Shire is renowned for its eclectic mix of alternative life stylers with a vast range of artists living and working within the region. The Open Day is an opportunity for The Arts Factory Village to support local artists and provide them with a chance to promote themselves to the public. The theme for this years Open Day was “Community Arts and Crafts” which incorporated a range of market stalls on site as well as a variety of live music, entertainment and workshops.
As part of the Open Day, The Arts Factory Lodge also made an attempt to break their current Guinness World Record for Most People Spinning Fire. On Saturday August 15th 2009, The Arts Factory Lodge successfully achieved the Guinness World Record for Most People Fire Spinning with 102 participants fire twirling for a minimum of 3 minutes.

This years spectacular attempt saw 112 participants spinning fire for 3 minutes. The application has been sent to Guinness World Records for assessment and will take a few months before we know if we have been officially granted the new title of Guinness World Record holders for 2010.
