Australia Day Celebrations in Byron Bay

Well it’s that time of year again when we bust out the flags, paint our faces, and in true Australian tradition get drunkety drunk drunk !

Another great tradition in Byron Bay is the annual “Australia Day Paddle Out” from Wategos beach to Main beach Surf Life Saving Club. This is a charity based event run by the surfing community which attracts hundreds of people every year including some well known pro surfers.   [click to continue…]

Africa Day Celebrations, Byron Bay

So what is “Africa Day” ? Africa Day is the annual commemoration on of the 1963 founding of the Organisation Of African Unity. So basically a celebration of African unity. This day is being celebrated all over Byron Bay with various events and activities over the coming weekend. A time to crank out the drums and celebrate everything African !
