New Legislation on Fraser Island
New legislation came into force today (1st July 2010) for all self drive Fraser Island tours. What does this mean for customers of Nomads Fraser Island Tours?
In short this means that all self drive tours of Fraser Island now have to travel in groups and that a lead vehicle be driven by a qualified tour leader. Nomads have revamped their vehicles to comply with the new legislation, which also includes no side facing seats and no bags to be strapped to the roof.
The Tag-tour lead vehicles (late model Land cruiser Prado) are equipped with satellite phone, cable winch, recovery kit and trauma first aid kit. These lead vehicles will be driven by an appointed guide with a maximum of 7 passengers.
