It seems very sad to have to have a guide for hygiene but it seems that hostels and backpackers will forever be synonomous with poor hygiene. In the defence of the backpacker living on the road, out of a backpack and in constantly different places isn't easy and I guarantee that there is no backpacker out there who at some point hasn't committed a poor hygiene crime. Sometimes it can't be helped. For example, the other day I was sat in my windowless office on a hot day in Auckland and by 5pm I couldn't breathe from my own smell. I'm not dirty but it couldn't be helped. I have a fan now.
It's no secret that the British love to travel and that it would take something pretty major, like the world ending, to stop the British from escaping the daily grind and crappy weather for a while each year. Therefore, it is fair to say that the Brits know what they're talking about when it comes to travel and which destinations they are keen to travel to and once again, New Zealand is being named as a top destination to travel to, this time in Wanderlust Magazine.

Hervey Bay is one of the most famous places in Australia for a couple of reasons. Firstly, Hervey Bay is hailed as the whale watching capital of Australia and secondly, Hervey Bay is the gateway to the unrivaled Fraser Island and some serious 4WD action. However, is there anything to actually do in Hervey Bay itself? Let's be honest the main attractions take you away from the town itself but you are going to have to stay in Hervey Bay for a least a couple of nights before and after your Fraser Island and Whale Watching trips so you are going to need to know what there is to do to occupy your time.
I recently was lucky enough to have my very own Oz Experience! As part of my training as a travel agent in New Zealand I was given the opportunity to go on an Oz Experience bus. Due to time constraints I wasn't able to experience the whole of the East Coast but I got to spend 14 days on the hop-on hop-off bus to see why backpackers would want to see the East Coast of Australia on an Oz Experience bus. Here's what we managed to pack in to fourteen days!
Noosa is one of those places that is very often advertised as a place to visit as there is a little piece of everything. In Noosa's case this is true - there really is a little piece of everything rather than very much of something but somehow Noosa still manages to entice you to visit and what it should advertise is that it is really quite difficult to think of any good reason to leave. In short, Noosa is a wonderful sea-side paradise that is really rather random. There's a good reason why Noosa is a popular Queensland holiday destination.
