Byron Bay Dive Centre | Julian Rocks Marine Reserve
Scuba Diving Wikipedia
I recently had an awesome dive at the Julian Rocks Marine Reserve with Byron Bay Dive Centre! This scuba diving spot is really special as this is where the beauty of the Coral Sea meets the wildness of the Southern Ocean. This means you get to see the beautiful fish from the Great Barrier Reef mingle with the fish from Sydney!
It's also very rare to swim from warm to cold water. After we got our scuba diving equipment ready and had short introductions at the Byron Bay Dive Centre we broke into small groups on the beach where the boat got ready to take us off to Julian Rocks Marine Reserve.
"I finally saw a sea turtle..."
My dive team consisted of 5 people plus the dive instructor. Most of the others seemed far more experienced than me as they had been diving more than 30 times! I definitely had the least experience on only 4 scuba dives but I got the instructor as my dive buddy. This made me feel way more safe!
Scuba Diving is so peaceful and I was fascinated by the colourful reef and millions of different kinds of fish that were hanging out in only 16 metres of water. On top of this my christmas wish came true and I finally saw a seaturtle :-)
Other highlights of this superb trip to Julian Rocks Marine Reserve with Byron Bay Dive Centre were a super sweet nemo family, a shark, an octopus and a giant manta ray.
