Auckland Adventure Jet | a supercharged harbour experience

Looking for an awesome way to experience Auckland harbour with some mates? Auckland Adventure Jet has just the answer, hop aboard for a spin around the harbour in their supercharged jet boat. Climb on their purpose built boat at Pier 3D on Quay Street, just 10 minutes from the hostel, and within minutes you’ll be blasting around, checking out the harbour and city at speeds up to 100kph, the fastest jet boats on the harbour.

Jet boats are a New Zealand invention and so you’ve just got to try one when you’re here. The Auckland Adventure Jet has twin 300HP engines, supercharged and turbocharged, that’s a lot of power, and it that means awesome acceleration and a capability to do all the tricks jet boats are famous for. Because they’re powered by jets, they don’t have propellers and can do high speed spins, like doing a donut in a sports car, only better, with water spraying everywhere! Yes you’re probably going to get wet on this trip, but don’t worry they supply you with a poncho as well as life jackets before you get on board.

When you’re in Auckland you’ve got to get on the Waitemata harbour to see Auckland at it’s best, and if you like your activities adrenalin-pumping then these trips are for you. For under NZ$100 you get at least 35 minutes in the boat, you’ll shoot up under the harbour bridge, where crazy people throw themselves off (with bungy attached) or maybe down the harbour towards Mission Bay for views of iconic Rangitoto Island.
